01 · Overview
Overview
MetroFax sits within the Consensus Cloud Solutions portfolio alongside eFax. It targets a different buyer than its more enterprise sibling: small businesses and individuals who want predictable monthly pricing for general business faxing without the complexity of an enterprise compliance pitch.
The Essential, Value and Professional plans are aligned to typical small-office workloads. Essential covers 500 pages at $11.95 a month. Value steps up to 1,000 pages at $14.95. Professional sits at $37.95 for 2,500 pages.
A $0.03-per-page overage is among the lowest published rates in our comparison set. There are no activation fees and no early-termination fees on standard plans. Annual billing saves roughly 17% across the plan stack. A 3-day free trial (credit card required) lets buyers evaluate the workflow.
MetroFax is geo-restricted to US and Canadian users; visitors from outside that region are redirected to a Consensus geo-block page that points them to eFax.

07 · Who it suits
Best for
Small businesses, real estate offices, accountants without PHI exposure, schools and contractors. Anyone who needs reliable email-to-fax with 500–2,500 pages a month at a known price.
The lack of a HIPAA pitch is actually a strength here. MetroFax does not waste time selling compliance to buyers who do not need it. The price reflects that focus.
Not ideal for
Healthcare practices, law firms handling PHI, mental health providers and any organisation that requires a signed BAA. MetroFax does not publish a HIPAA stance and should be assumed unsuitable for protected health information.
Buyers who need HIPAA at a similar price band should evaluate SRFax Health Lite ($12.60) or iFax Plus ($24.99) instead. Both sign a BAA directly through the published plan.
08 · The verdict
Verdict
MetroFax does not try to be everything. That is exactly its strength. Small businesses get reliable send and receive at a fair price. The page allowances are generous. The overage is low. The Essential and Value plans deliver exceptional value for the money. Healthcare buyers should skip it. Any team needing a BAA should look at iFax Plus, SRFax Health Lite or Fax.Plus Enterprise.
